Copy Tips for Social Media

Copy Tips for Social Media

You’ve created your social media profile and know what you want to post, but how do you write copy that’s going to sell and get your audience to engage with your content? Here are a few pointers that should help!

1. Make your captions call to actions

With every post, you can engage with your audience so why not give them the opportunity to respond?

This can be done by asking them to check out a link in your bio, or to comment on the image or tag someone. By doing this, your followers are engaging with your content and therefore are likely to see more of your posts on their feed.

2. Ask a question

Questions are the most obvious and also underrated way of gaining more engagement from your followers. It piques curiosity and also leads to conversations.

3. Create a sense of urgency

Humans don’t want to miss a sale or an opportunity to win something so use this to help boost your engagement and sales. Phrases like, ‘Don’t miss out’, ‘If you don’t act now’, or ‘For 24 hours only’ tend to pull in the attention required from users even if they know it’s just a marketing ploy.

4. Focus on the benefit and not the feature

When trying to sell, make sure you highlight why your product or service will help them. Make sure that this is clear in the caption and to the point.

5. Don’t make it a broadcast

Good copy isn’t a broadcasted message, it’s more conversational. People pay more attention when they feel like you’re speaking to them as opposed to making an announcement.

We hope these pointers help!
