Get the Best Results from Facebook with These 10 Tips

Updated: Apr 7, 2020

Facebook to do list

In our previous post we highlighted a few reasons why your business should have a Facebook page. Now that you're convinced (yes, we ARE assuming you listen to us), let's tell you how to get the most from your new Facebook page.

1. Profile Picture and Cover

Make sure your profile picture is recognisable. Your company logo would be ideal for this or a headshot of yourself if you're the face of the company or a solopreneur.

Your cover photo should be engaging, of high quality, and attractive.

Don't forget to ensure that the pictures are designed to the correct size!

2. Add a CTA

Definitely include a call-to-action. What do you want people to do once they're on your page. Should they send you a message? Should they shop online if you're an online retailer? You can use this as a way to drive visitors to your site, sign up for updates, or purchase online.

Jumia are advertising their app and therefore have mentioned Use App as their CTA:

3. Fill in Information

Your business page will require you to fill in information about the company, the website, etc. Fill it. The more information you have on there that tells your visitors what your brand is about, the better the conversions.

4. Post & Test

Post all sorts of content - photos, videos, lead-gen, links, etc. Then analyse. See what sort of content gets the most engagements. Look at likes, look at shares, and look at timing. What times were the posts posted? Test time of send, day of send, and frequency as well.

Facebook insights will be able to provide you with all the information and analytics that you need.

5. Make the Most of Scheduling

You don't need a social media tool to schedule your posts. You can do it within Facebook itself. Take advantage of this.

6. Pin Posts

Make your most important posts stand out by pinning them to the top of your page so that visitors can see them. Examples of posts you could pin are any lead-gen offers, product announcements, or an upcoming event.

7. Respond

Creating a Facebook page means allowing fans and followers to interact with the page and engage with your brand. Monitor this closely and respond to posts on your page. Watch what they're saying, the conversations happening, and learn from it.

8. Promote the Page

Once you've got content on your page and information, it's time to promote it. Make sure there's a link to it from your company website and from your emails. You could even do a dedicated email send to your list letting them know you have a Facebook page.

9. Measure

You don't want to put in all this effort with your Facebook page and now know how impactful it is. Therefore, it is important to measure the impact that Facebook has. How many site visits or leads are you generating from Facebook? Are people engaging with the brand?

10. Advertise

Take your page a notch higher and invest in some paid advertising to promote your page. Facebook allows you to promote your page to a target audience and boost certain posts. You can always start small and then increase spend if you see fit.
