Types of Content

Updated: Apr 6, 2020

In our previous post, we spoke about the importance of content marketing and now we’re going to share with you some of our favourite types of content.

There are a variety of types of content that you can share, and based on your target audience and buyer personas you can pick the most appropriate type to use.

Content we like and think works well...

INFOGRAPHICS

Infographics are a great visual representation of information. Here's an example of an infographic on some digital marketing tools that we created recently.

Infographics can help engage with your audience visually and lead to more views and shares.

WEBINARS

If you like creating presentations for people, a webinar is a great way of sharing your content with those who can’t sit in on an in-person presentation. Not only will you be doing what you like, but your subscribers can listen to what you have to say in detail rather than read a long post about it.

They also allow you to connect with your audience at a deeper and more personal level. When hosting a live webinar, your viewers are able to ask you questions in real time improving their experience with your brand.

EBOOKS

An eBook is essentially a very long piece of content that your users can download. This could be a guide on a topic or a short book that helps establishes your authority in a particular field.

It’s free and is usually shared in exchange for an email address – a great way to get subscribers for free!

PODCASTS

Podcasts are basically audio shows that people can listen to at their own leisure. Many tend to listen to them while commuting or at the gym even. They’re easy to make, time efficient, and as communication is direct, it’s more personal form of interaction.

Neil Patel tends to do frequent podcasts and provides some insightful gems on digital marketing.

CASE STUDIES

Case Studies on what your company has done successfully is a great way to show subscribers that you really know what you’re doing and are good at it. It helps build trust and influence.

OPINIONS

Opinion pieces are quite common as everyone has their own take on various topics. These are great for starting a conversation and sharing what your company believes in.

HOW TO'S

These are quite popular and are generally widely read. Subscribers and viewers are always looking for solutions to problems and a good how-to guide/post is the perfect way to help your audience.

LISTS

Last but not least, are lists. As you’ll see from our previous posts (link this), we love lists (like this post). They’re easy to read and/or skim through, they’re to the point, and they’re extremely popular in all industries.

Now while this list isn’t very long and definitely does not cover every single type of content you can create, it’s definitely a start.
